The Minister of Transport witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Suez Canal Shipping Agencies Company and Trust Trading and Transport Company to establish a joint venture for the management and operation of specialized commercial vessels operating on a shipping route between ports in the Arab Republic of Egypt and ports in East African countries.

Minister of Transport, Lieutenant General Kamel El-Wazir, oversaw the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Suez Canal Shipping Agencies Company and Trust Trading and Transport Company to establish a joint venture for the management and operation of specialized commercial vessels operating on a shipping route between ports in the Arab Republic of Egypt and ports in East African countries. The vessels will transport livestock and Egyptian goods. The protocol was signed by Rear Admiral Mohamed Abdo Karar, Managing Director of the Suez Canal Shipping Agencies Company, and Mr. Ahmed Mohamed Abu Khadra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Trust Trading and Transport Company The signing ceremony was attended by Major General Dr. Nihad Shahin, Deputy Minister of Transport for Maritime Transport; Major General Hussein El-Geziry, Head of the Maritime Transport Sector; Dr. Amr Mostafa, Managing Director and CEO of the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport; Major General Mohamed Abdel-Rahim, Chairman of the Red Sea Ports Authority; and Major General Ashraf El-Assal, Chairman of the Egyptian Maritime Safety Authority. Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir stated that this signing comes within the framework of implementing the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic.By working to enhance cooperation and maximize intra-African trade, in addition to the great attention the Egyptian government pays to increasing Egyptian exports, opening new markets, and increasing the volume of trade with African countries, especially those in East Africa, given that connectivity with African countries in various fields, including transportation, is a fundamental pillar for achieving continental integration and promoting sustainable economic growth. He added that this company, which will be established, will be responsible for managing and providing logistical services for commercial vessels of a special nature. And related activities such as the work of the shipping agency for ships, as well as customs clearance work for goods exported or imported by these ships, in addition to internal logistics services including transportation and storage, coordination with ports, customs, veterinary and regulatory authorities, as well as receiving these ships in the port of Safaga as a first stage, with the intention of allowing them to be received in all Red Sea ports in the near future.
